
Solar Panel Roof Inspection with Thermal Drone
Using a DJI Enterprise thermal drone, we recently completed a full solar panel inspection for a residential client. Thermal imaging reveals hotspots, cracked cells, and efficiency losses invisible to the naked eye.
Solar panels can develop issues over time that significantly impact performance: hot spots where a cell or component overheats, cracks and physical damage that reduce output and shorten lifespan, and soiling or shading that causes localised energy loss.
For this residential inspection, we deployed our DJI Enterprise thermal drone to capture high-resolution thermal and visual imagery of the complete solar array.
Findings for this client: no hot spots were detected — all cells functioning correctly without overheating. No physical damage present — panels remained structurally sound without cracks or broken components.
